Medziphema, April 15 (MExN): State Agricultural Management and Extension Training Institute (SAMETI) organised two-day training on ‘integrated management practices for horticulture crops’ for ATMA functionaries at SAMETI, Medziphema on April 13 and 14.
The training was aimed at imparting technical knowledge on management of horticultural crops to the participants. A total of 20 participants from different districts attended the training.
Resource persons were AK Singh, Horticulture Specialist, Central Institute of Horticulture Medziphema and Dr Azeze Seyie, Scientist ICAR Research Complex for NEH Region, Nagaland Centre. Participatory lectures on advanced production technology of Khasi Mandarin, advance production technology of Banana, improved package of practices in Naga King Chilly, preparation of Naga King Chilly Pickle were covered during the training.
Practical session on post harvest management & processing of Naga King Chilli was conducted at ICAR, Jharnapani. The participants also went for a field visit to Central institute of Horticulture (CIH), Medziphema.
The valedictory programme was chaired by Tiajungla Longchar, DPD SAMETI. In his valedictory address, K Remphamo Lotha, Director SAMETI encouraged the participants to take the practical knowledge gained during the training to the doorstep of the farmers.
Certificates were distributed by Director SAMETI Director, while Janet Chishi, DPD, SAMETI pronounced the vote of thanks.
