Dimapur, March 8 (MExN): Can Youth in collaboration with CommuTiny-The Youth Collective, Delhi has launched the Samjho Toh campaign in Dimapur district on March 6 and 7 with 44 youths from Eastern Christian College, Neisatuo Adolescent Club and Burma Camp Colony, Dimapur.
According to a press release received on Monday, Samjho Toh is a journey that brings young people from across identity and ideological borders to dialogue around a common idea of India and collaborates to come up with the art based products to spread the narrative of fraternity against the hate narrative widespread in the country today.
In the first ‘ADDA,’ the facilitators highlighted about the campaign to the participants. The youth were engaged in different activities based on Samvidhan LIVE game, focusing on tasks that center on the value of fraternity. During the session the participants underwent a debate on the topic ‘Is violence justified for the right cause?’, where the participants were divided into 2 group i.e. Motion and against the given statement, the release stated.
The whole idea of this debate was to bring together their polarized ideas and opinions and create among them a mutual understanding of accepting ideological differences and respect of different beliefs and culture, it added.
The release stated that the purpose of the campaign was to empower the young people to deconstruct their stories and initiate the process of mind-set change, develop capacities to be able to practice empathy for deep dialoguing and co-create a shared vision of India based on constitutional values influencing polarized narratives through amplification.
