Dimapur, February 2 (MExN): NIIT Dimapur Center organized a function to reward the lucky winner of its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) activities with Dr Andrew Ahoto, Chairman, Livingstone Foundation International and Dr Fr CP Anto, Director, Peace Channel as special invitees on February 1. 

Saraswati Ghale, 4th semester student of Public College of Commerce was declared the lucky winner out of the 90 applicants for the free diploma in computer applications. She will start her learning for the DCA program from Thursday, NNIT Dimapur Centre informed in a press release. 

Speaking on the occasion, Dr Ahoto exhorted the applicants to aspire to be IT professionals and to avail various other schemes of NIIT. Dr Fr Anto in his speech said that computer education is a necessity for today’s generation. 

‘Freshest Technology First’ being the aim of NIIT, MD Ajay Sethi dwelled upon the fact of change being the only constant and the frequent upgradation of NIIT curriculums, faculties competence and technologies by the center, which has led it to teach computers to more than 30,000 youth of Nagaland in schools, colleges, corporate and the center, 3000 placements in the last 20 years, besides generating self-employment opportunities for many more. Center has been offering various scholarships at regular intervals, besides launching interest-free study loans with NIIT’s Partnership with Eduvanz for post graduate career programs.

Daniel Changkiri, Center Head chaired the programme while Bishnu Chhetry, Business Executive proposed vote of thanks.
