Satakha: Minister Kaito urges citizens to get vaccinated

Satakha, May 25 (MExN): Nagaland Minister for Agriculture and Cooperation G Kaito Aye on Tuesday visited Satakha subdivision under Zunheboto district to take stock of the COVID-19 situation in the town. The minister will also be attending the district task force meeting which will soon be held in Zunheboto, according to a press release.

During his visit, the Minister noted that the COVID situation in the district has been getting worse and as such, urged the people to cooperate with the government in the fight against pandemic. He also urged the people to get tested immediately in case anybody develops any kind of symptoms and take appropriate measures as per the existing COVID protocols. 

Minister Kaito also emphasised on the importance of vaccination, stating that it is the only weapon against the virus. He urged the people to educate themselves and get vaccinated and not be swayed by fake messages about vaccination.

According to the release, he pointed out that most of the COVID fatalities across the state and in Zunheboto district, were among those who did not receive the vaccine jabs. He also said that there is a vaccine shortage for the 18 to 44 age groups as the production level is slow and the demand for vaccine is high, it added.

As per the release, the minister provided many medicines, 2 oxygen concentrators, masks, hand sanitizers, etc., worth Rs 4 lakh to the Primary Health Centre Satakha.
