Condolence messages for Rev Dr S Yevito Sümi
Dimapur, June 7 (MExN): Several organizations and leaders have mourned the demise of Rev Dr S Yevito Sümi was passed away at Zunheboto on June 6. Late Rev Yevito was the former Executive Secretary of SBAK Nito Mount (2008-2014) and served as Senior Pastor at Sümi Baptist Church Zunheboto (2015-2021).
Sümi Hoho: Sümi Hoho in a condolence message stated that Sümi community has lost a great spiritual leader. A true man of God, Reverend was an epitome of sincerity, integrity and humility.
He was a pioneer, serving as the first President of Sümi Theological Association and Sümi Baptist Pastors Union, respectively. During his lifetime, he served the Lord under various capacities and excelled at each given opportunity, it stated.
“The Sümi community will remember him forever for his selfless sacrifice and service rendered towards the community,” it conveyed while praying for God's solace and comfort upon the bereaved family.
MLA Picto: MLA Er Picto Shohe recalled his journey with Rev Yevito to attend the Baptist World Congress in July 2005 and he could see him as one of the most ‘dedicated, sincere and down to earth person’ and describe him as a ‘true spiritually leader’ who always seeks God’s wisdom to lead his way.
“The passing away of Rev Dr S Yevito Sumi has created a huge gap in the spiritual ministry of Sumi’s” he added.
SDF: Sümi Discussion Forum (SDF) stated that Sümi people and Nagas in general have lost a great spiritual leader and a good fatherly figure. His absence will leave a big chasm in the spiritual arena which will take a long time to fill.
“He is gone but his pleasant docile tone, his invigorating preaching and his humble bearing and these memories will remain with us, he will be deeply missed,” the forum said.
WSBAK: Western Sümi Baptist Akükühou Küqhakulu (WSBAK) in its condolence message conveyed that it grieves along with the bereaved family and entire Sümi community for losing a man of faith who has played an influential role.
WSBAK also mourned with the demise of Late Rev Viheto Achumi on May 29. Late Rev Viheto Achumi was a retired Pastor under WSBAK who has served under Lord in various areas. He started his ministry on January 30, 1966 and retired on June 10, 2006 and was serving as Home Evangelist at Kuhoxu Baptist Church from 2017-2021.
