Dimapur, May 3 (MExN): The Mission Department of Sumi Baptist Akukuhou Kuqhakulu (SBAK) Nito Mount organised a three-day Mission Conference at Koiboto from April 29 to May 1. The conference was held under the theme ‘Apiti Kivi Xusu Lo (plant a good seed.)

As per a press release received here on Monday, Advisor for Tourism, Art & Culture Khehovi Yepthomi delivered greetings during the mission conference. He is said to have lauded the organisation committee for building and strengthening the faith and belief of the people by organising such a spiritual conference.

He stated that one does not necessarily have to be a theologian to be on a mission and shared that the first Baptist Christian missionary to India was Willian Carey who was a cobbler, according to the release.

While lamenting the sufferings of missionaries, Yepthomi asserted that the cause of many missionaries’ suffering was the lack of mission structure. He suggested that people willing to go on missions should be well trained by the association so as to curb language and other related problems.

DIG (Hq) PHQ Joseph Hesso also spoke during the conference under the topic ‘To strengthen and encourage mission (Puwu keu kümla shikumto tsuni),’ while other speakers included Rev Hukugha Zhimo, Executive Secretary, SBAK NM; Rev Atovi N Assumi, Secretary (Mission & Evangelism) SABAK (Pughoboto);  and Tokugha Awomi, Finance Secretary, SBAK NM. Vote of thanks proposed by Kiyeli Yepthomi, Mission Board Chairperson SBAK NM
