SBI Gram Seva-AIDA organizes training for adopted villages

Dimapur, March 11 (MExN): Under the SBI Gram Seva Programme implemented by ANMA Integrated Development Association (AIDA), Don Bosco a total of 23 participants from Bade and Urra village attended training on banana fiber extraction and value addition at Central Institute of Horticulture (CIH), Medziphema on March 11. 

SBI Gram Seva Programme is implemented in five adopted villages under Chümoukedima sub-division of Dimapur district, namely, Urra, Bade, Khriezephe, Diezephe and Tsithrongse. 

The participants were accompanied by Pfokho John, Program Manager, SBI Gram Seva-AIDA and Maongkar T Changkiri, Livelihood Officer, SBI Gram Seva- AIDA. 

Dr NK Patle, Additional Commissioner, Horticulture, DAC&FW and director in-charge CIH, welcomed the participants to the training and interacted with the trainees through online conference. Dr Moasosang Longkumer, Assistant Horticulture Specialist, gave the introduction and talked about scope of banana fiber extraction. 

Mhasizotuo, Sr Tech Assistant gave the practical demonstration on the process of banana fiber extraction and value addition. The training ended with a valedictory session and certificates were issued to all the participants.
