SBI Prerna Centre to enhance women for self employment

Dimapur, March 15 (MExN): SBI Prerna Centre was inaugurated as part of the SBI Gram Seva programme implemented in five adopted villages by ANMA Integrated Development Association (AIDA), Don Bosco, under Chümoukedima sub-division at Khriezephe on March 15. 

At SBI Prerna Centre, handloom machines with its attached accessories and raw materials were provided to the women folk. Trainings will be provided on weaving to all the five adopted villages namely Khriezephe, Diezephe, Tsithrongse, Urra and Bade to enhance the women for self employment, stated a press release from PRO AIDA- Don Bosco. 

Special guest Shiddalingesh, Co-ordinator SBI Foundation emphasized on SBI Prerna Centre which is to motivate and empower women with skill development for self employment and support their livelihood. It is set up to facilitate activities and create platform for inclusion of women/girls in the development activities. He urged for more women participation in the programme. 

While special guest Naresh, Assistant Director of Weaver’s Service Centre (WSC), Toluvi Village, Dimapur, Ministry of Textiles Office of Development Commissioner for Handlooms, Government of India also addressed the community and assured for any sort of technical and market linkage support through exhibition in the near future. 

While welcoming all the guests, Rev Fr Joseph TT, SDB Associate Director, AIDA thanked SBI Foundation. He also thanked the village authorities and concerned leaders for providing space to set up the SBI Prerna Centre. 

Rev Fr CT Varghese, SDB, Rector & Director Don Bosco Campus, Dimapur invoked God’s blessings for the SBI Gram Seva programme. The programme was chaired by Akho Tsuzuh, Gram Sevak. It concluded with vote of thanks by Helen Kemp, Women Body, Chairperson.
