Zunheboto, November 8 (MExN): The Sümi Baptist Pastors’ Conference (SBPC) SBAK-Aizuto celebrated its golden jubilee from November 5 to 7, with Shoixe Village Baptist Church as hosts.
The jubilee was attended by around 20 retired Reverends and 540 Church leaders from SBAK.
During the jubilee celebration, Rev Ghokuto Chishi, Pastor Lumithsami Baptist Church, Rev Ghukhevi Katty, Evangelist SBAK and Mughaho Awomi, Pastor Satami Baptist Church were the speakers while Rev Mulato Chishi, Executive Secretary SBAK was the key note speaker who spoke on the theme ‘Growing up in Christ in all things’.
Dr I Pihoto Khala, President of SBAK Executive Council expressed gratitude towards the pastoral community for strengthening the growth of SBAK and expressed optimism that through the contribution of church leaders, SBAK will continue to grow for the glory of God.
The Zunheboto Town Sumi Baptist Church presented a jubilee choral while Natha Old BYF inaugurated the jubilee service with a curtain raiser. Jubilee blessings were pronounced by Rev Phuheto Shikhu, Pastor Yehemi Baptist Church who was a founding member of SBPC and by Rev Vitoshe K Aye, Pastor, Centre Baptist Church. Meanwhile, Rev Ghokuto Chishi dedicated a jubilee souvenir which was published to recollect God’s works in the lives of the church leaders.
Started in 1971 with an objective to strengthen the identity and to enhance the welfare works among Church workers in Sumi churches, the SBPC fellowship witnessed Pastors from Sumi churches converging at Aizuto mission centre to participate in the formation and the jubilee was a celebration of the Pastoral legacy left by the pioneers, the SBPC stated in a press release on Monday.
