SDSA flays Manipur Cabinet decision to bifurcate Sadar Hills

Dimapur, November 7 (MExN): While reaffirming its stance to defend and protect its ancestral land, the Senapati District Students’ Association (SDSA) has strongly condemned the Manipur Cabinet’s decision to bifurcate Sadar Hills into (three) sub-divisions. Terming it as “illogical and bias” decision a press communiqué from SDSA stated that, “such premature decision of the communal Government will only escalate the tension created by present situation.”
SDSA President LR John pointed out that, during the visit with Union Home Minister P. Chidambaram on November 2 to Senapati District, Chief Minister O. Ibobi had assured that “no unilateral decision will be taken but due consultation of concerned communities will be considered.” But, the Cabinet decision on November 5 to create 3(three) sub-divisions has made the SDSA to questions the integrity and credibility of the CM, SDSA added that.
SDSA also condemns the repeated assault of 3(three) bandh volunteers at T. Khullen by a 43 AR Post commander at Kangpokpi AR out post. SDSA stated that the officer is the same AR major who some days back assaulted the President of ANSAM J.Komu Shah at Senapati. Till date, the concerned officer or the Assam rifles has not tender any apology to the incident. The SDSA stated it has decided to lodge complaint against the officer to the higher authority; adding that if the concerned authority does not take any disciplinary action against the tainted Major immediately, “the SDSA will not continue to tolerate such inhuman and irrational behaviours of the defence personnel but react accordingly.”
