Mokokchung, March 5 (MExN): A one-day seminar on ‘Awareness on Drug Abuse Prevention’ was organized by Yimkümmer Welfare Society in collaboration with Department of Social Welfare, Government of Nagaland, on March 3 at Yimkümmer House, Tuli with Imsongmeren, ADC (Tuli) as Guest Speaker, and Maong Jamir, social worker and author as resource person.
The purpose of this seminar was to ‘sensitize and create awareness about the roles and responsibilities of stakeholders on drug abuse and to share information on primary prevention', Allen Imsong, Chairman, Yimkummer Welfare Society stated on Friday.
The topics covered were ‘Issues Related to Drug Abuse and Alcoholism’ and ‘Basics on Drug Abuse and Alcoholism’.
Inputs on the subject were also contributed by Sanen, Program Coordinator (Youth Mission) Kohima, and Kilang Imsong, Residential Counselor (Grace Rehabilitation Home) Tuli. The seminar was attended by SDPO (Tuli), all ward chairmen and representatives from 11 wards of Tuli Town, Pastors of Tuli Lenten Baptist Church, Aitlenden Baptist Church, Luyong Baptist Church besides youth from several churches led by Youth Pastors. The event was sponsored by the Department of Social Welfare, Government of Nagaland.
