Tuensang, February 24 (MExN): A week long seminar under the theme ‘Know your Rights and Entitlements’ was organised by International Human Rights Council Tuensang from February 20 to 24 in several villages in the district.
According to a press release from the organisation’s media-in-charge, the resource persons for the seminars were State Vice-Secretary B Yemlongchaba and IHRC Tuensang Unit President BM Yanchu.
As per the release, the speakers focused on the theme and emphasised on the different schemes that are implemented for the people. Chaba stated that government schemes like MGNREGA and PMEGP are meant for the villagers and encouraged the gathering to apply for the schemes. He also assured that the IHRC would help out if they face difficulties while applying for the schemes.
Over 300 individuals including villagers, village councils, GBs, student leaders from New Helepong, Ngangpong, Khudei, Buthenbou and Old Helepong attended the seminar which was sponsored by P Beshang Chang.
