Kiphire, February 20 (MExN): The sensitization programme on COVID-19 vaccine for FLHWs -ASHAs and AWWs was held at District Hospital Conference Hall, Kiphire for Sadar and Amahator circles.
A press release from Kiphire CMO Office, Media cell stated that speaking on the occasion, Tsangkhuchu, DWO (ICDS) emphasised on the importance of vaccinating with COVID-19 vaccine by the health workers and he encouraged them to motivate beneficiaries to accept the vaccine by intervening them through community participation.
The District Community Mobilizer, Seli Anar stressed on the role of ASHAs and AWWs towards the community on how to reduce vaccine hesitancy and improve vaccine acceptance through various interventional approach.
The programme was followed by COVID-19 vaccination to the ASHAs and AWWs. Dr K Pewezo Khalo, DIO lauded the FLHWs for coming forward and accepting the vaccine today by overcoming all the rumours about the vaccine. He encouraged them to be proactive and play the role of influencer in their community and disseminate proper information and create massive awareness on the vaccine.
