Six railway buildings of NFR receives “Shunya Label” by BEE

MALIGAON, AUGUST 24 (MExN):  In line with the commitment to achieve Net Zero Carbon Emission, six significant buildings of Northeast Frontier Railway have been honoured with the prestigious "Shunya Label" for their remarkable achievement as Net Zero Energy Buildings. 

The Bureau of Energy Efficiency (BEE), under the Ministry of Power, Government of India, presented this accolade, NFR CPRO Kapinjal Kishore Sharma said in a press release on Saturday. 

The buildings that have clinched this recognition are the Railway Workshop Administrative Building; Supervisors Training Centre and Supervisors Training Centre Engineers Hostel of New Bongaigaon, General Store Depot, Pandu, Guwahati; Running Room, Rangiya and Running Room, Katihar and Railway Workshop Administrative Building, New Bongaigaon. 

The Railway Workshop Administrative Building of New Bongaigaon boasts a connected load of 81.615 kW and an annual energy generation of 227869 kWh per year. The Supervisors Training Centre in New Bongaigaon has a connected load of 132.6kW and an annual energy consumption of 30233 kWh/year.

Similarly, Supervisors Training Centre Engineers Hostel of New Bongaigaon, General Store Depot at Pandu, Guwahati, Running Room of Rangiya and Running Room of Katihar have a connected load of 39.9 kW, 150 kVA, 56kW and 60 kW andan annual energy consumption of 11635.25 kWh/year, 16300 kWh/year, 14270 kWh/year and 100126 kWh/year respectively.

Indian Railways is committed to its Net Zero-Carbon emission mission goal by 2030. As per its commitment, NF Railway is taking various steps to get more "Shunya Label" certification across all important buildings under its jurisdiction.
