SJC Jakhama holds 31st Graduation Day 

Jakhama, November 18 (MExN): After being delayed by the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic, St Joseph's College (Autonomous) Jakhama held its 31st Graduation Day for both 2020 and 2021 batches on November 16 with Medo Yhokha, Advisor to Technical Education & Election, Government Of Nagaland, as a guest speaker along with Rev Dr James Thoppil, the Bishop of Nagaland. 

A press release from SJC informed that Yokha, in his speech, exhorted the graduates to build a better society and reminded them that the degrees they receive are invitations to the greater outside world. 

He further opined for the need to create an environment of opportunities for young minds along with the responsibilities that rests upon the youth to raise their voices. 

Be men and women of substance and to start something new in society, the Advisor further stated. 

Rev Dr Thoppil also challenged the graduates to work for the welfare of society and to bring total transformation. Above all, he advised the students to arm with virtue of gratitude that would produce zeal, purpose, and bring happiness. 
Earlier, the event started with an invocation by Rev Fr William Pinto SJ, Principal Loyala Higher Secodanry School, Jakhama, followed by a welcome address from Rev Father George Keduolhou, Principal of SJC (Autonomous), Jakhama. 

Speeches were also delivered by  Zulesenla Jamir, Assistant Professor, Dept of English; and Vinole Kiso and Elisha Y Yeptho, the recipients of the Governor's Award and the best graduates of 2020 and 2021.
