Kohima, July 5 (MExN): Three-day training for Social Audit for Samagra Shiksha Nagaland commenced at SIRD Kohima on July 5. Speaking in the introductory session, Temsunaro Aier, IAS State Mission Director, Samagra Shiksha Nagaland, spoke on the importance of conducting Social Audit as per the directive of the Ministry of Education, Government of India. 

Aier lauded the Nagaland State Social Audit Agency (NSSAA) for accepting the task to conduct Social Audit for Samagra Shiksha during 2023-24. She urged the Social Auditor to carry out the responsibility with utmost sincerity while visiting the schools to bring out actual ground reports of various interventions initiated by Samagra Shiksha Nagaland. She also spoke on the need for transparency and accountability at every level to ensure that delivery of service is made to the last mile as per the objectives of the programme.

Earlier, Imlitoshi I Jamir, Director, NSSAA while extending welcome address spoke on various aspect of social auditing and appreciated Samsgra Shiksha for initiating Social Audit process. Power point presentations were made by Dr Kevizakie Rio, Joint Mission Director, Dr Bijano Murry, Joint Mission Director, Dr Chumbeni Kikon, Joint Mission Director, Kelhikha Kenye, Deputy Mission Director and Nuchyi, Programme Manager (Accounts) from Samagra Shiksha as resource persons on various activities implemented by Samagra Shiksha Nagaland. 

The Social Audit for Samagra Shiksha shall be carried out in phase-wise manner. In the first phase, the team shall cover 403 schools commencing from August 2023. Altogether, 52 participants attended the programme.
