Soft inauguration of Kohima Peace Memorial today

Kohima, May 7 (MExN): The soft inauguration of Kohima Peace Memorial and Eco Park will take place in Kohima on May 8. This will include the laying of the foundation stone and a ceremonial plantation at 8:00 am. Suzuki Hiroshi, Ambassador of Japan to India, Nagaland Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio and Nagaland environment, forest, climate change and village guard minister CL John will address the function.

The programme will be chaired by Nagaland Chief Secretary J Alam while vote of thanks will be proposed by Y Kikheto Sema, Commissioner & Secretary for Environment, Forest, Climate Change, Government of Nagaland. Later, Hiroshi will visit the Kohima War Cemetery, where the Chief Minister and the Ambassador will lay wreaths. The Ambassador and other Japanese delegates will also visit the Kohima Cathedral Kohima and the World War II Museum at Naga Heritage Village, Kisama.

Traffic regulation: In view of the Soft Inauguration Programme of Kohima Peace Memorial and Eco Park, Kohima Deputy Commissioner & Regional Transport Authority Chairman, Kumar Ramnikant has issued an order that the stretch of road from Classic Island Junction to Kohima Law College, Kohima has been declared as No Parking Zone from 6:00 am to 10:00 am on May 8.
