Ring of Fire: The different phases of the solar eclipse over the skies of Pfütsero on June 21, incidentally also marked as the longest day of the year in the northern hemisphere. According to National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) website on eclipses, the Sunday eclipse is an annular one, meaning the moon is unable to cover the entire sun, leaving a small surface exposed which is called the “ring of fire”. In India, the solar eclipse – when the Sun, the Moon, and the Earth came in a straight line - started from around 9 am across the Indian map and lasted till 2:28 pm This was the last annular solar eclipse of the decade, IANS News Agency reported, with the next solar eclipse visible in India 11 years away in 2031 making it a big astronomical event.
