Dimapur, March 20 (MExN): Taking a stand that the resolving the Naga political issue would have “political meaning if it is based on the Framework Agreement of the 3rd August, 2015,” the Eastern Naga National Workers Union (ENNWU) of NSCN (IM) has stated that it will “not accept Naga solution outside the Framework Agreement.”
The stand were taken during its General Session-cum-Thanksgiving held at the Council Hall, Showuba on March 19, informed a press release from ENNWU.
The union at the meeting also expressed strong reservation against the statement given by the Union Home Minister Amit Shah when the Nagaland Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio and Opposition leader TR Zeliang met him recently, the released said without specifying the same.
“’Misinterpretation of the Framework Agreement cannot be the basis for Naga solution’ is the stand taken by ENWWU,” it added
Meanwhile, during the meeting, Kilonser Angba Konyak expressed appreciation to the “to the government for placing their trust on the members of ENNWU” by appointing its members in various important posts.
The appointment included Tongmeth Wangnao - Vice-President; B Moba Chang - Member, Collective Leadership; Alam Konyak -Member, Collective Leadership; S Among L as Cabinet Secretary; and Thsanfu L- CAO, Union Territory.
Member, Collective Leadership Alam Konyak at the meeting, also stressed on the need to unite all the Eastern Nagas regardless of territorial demarcations, the release said.
Likewise, Moba Chang, Member of the Collective Leadership called for the unity of the ENNWU.
A new team of office bearers were also selected through a nominating committee during the meeting, the release added.
