‘Special financial inclusion mela’ held in Mon

Mon, January 29 (MExN): Block Mission Management Unit, Mon under the aegis of Nagaland State Rural Livelihood Mission (NSRLM), Department of Rural Development organised ‘special financial inclusion mela’ at Konyak Union hall on January 29.


Speaking on the occasion as special guest, a DIPR reports stated that SDO (C) Mon, Chumlamo Humtsoe encouraged the people to know the value of money. He advised the gathering to avail whatever facilities are available under different schemes. While stating that the district administration is ready to help, he requested the participants to share the schemes to friends and neighbours.


PO/DPM DRDA Mon, M Temjen Longchar said, “Women empowerment is necessary for upliftment of socio-economic status in the district and with the coming of NSRLM, has lots of impact in the district.


He also spoke on some of the objective of NSRLM like social mobilization, capacity building, financial inclusion and livelihood. 


Manager, India Post Payments Bank, Mon, Sumit Banerjee spoke on IPPB. He elaborated on how to open the IPPB account and also shared on the insurance facilities available in Postal department.


DPO Social Welfare Department, Mon, Khuppao Hengnya spoke on ‘Declamation of social welfare schemes.’ He shared on the schemes under social welfare like IGNOAPS, IGNWPS, Disabled Pension Schemes, ICDS, PMMVK and Poshan Abhiyaan.


Assistant Labour Commissioner, Mon, Visa Khunuo Ndang spoke on Prandhan Mantri Shram Yogi Mandhan (YMSYM).  She said that PMSYM scheme is providing a fixed pension of Rs.3000 after attaining the age of 60 years on a monthly contribution of a small amount during their working age. She informed that any unrecognized workers within the age group of 18-40 years can join the scheme and asked the workers to visit Community Service Centre along with Aadhaar Card and savings bank account for registration.


Deputy Chief Medical Officer, Mon, Dr Limatula spoke on Ayushman Bharat Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana (AB-PMJAY). She said that Ayushman Bharat which is a healthcare programme would provide cashless and paperless access to service for the beneficiaries at the point of service and helps to reduce catastrophic expenditure for hospitalization. She called upon the beneficiaries to enroll their names in order to avail the schemes. AB-PMJAY scheme it aims to provide coverage of INR five lakh per family annually, benefiting poor families for secondary and tertiary care hospitalisation through a network of empanelled healthcare provider, she added.


The keynote address was spoken by BDO cum BMM, RD Block, Mon. Special presentations were performed by Village Level Organization Wangla Vilage. The programme was attended by SHG, VDB and government officials. A total of 280 Self Help Groups from 19 villages under Mon block has been registered.
