Submits ‘final representation’ to DC Zunheboto
Zunheboto, March 10 (MExN): The SARDP Sumi Area Affected Landowners Welfare Committee (SSAALWC) on Tuesday announced an indefinite suspension of ongoing road project under Sumi jurisdiction (from Kilomi/Mudutsugho to Zunheboto) with effect from March 10 “till the compensation is paid to the beneficiaries.”
The SSAALWC informed that the move was resolved in a joint consultative meeting of eight villages (Kilomi, Khughuto, Kilo Old, Zhekiye, Aghuyito, Shoixe, Yemishe and Sukhalu) held on March 6 at Shoixe Village to deliberate the unresolved issue of property damage compensation of SARDP-NE Road project.
Machineries/vehicles belonging to construction firm/company will not be allowed to enter or exit any of the mentioned villages, it added.
The eight villages also decided to demand Deputy Commissioner (DC) Zunheboto to revoke the February 22, 2021 order which directed action to be taken on any individual(s)/group(s) or organization instead of addressing genuine demands, the Committee said.
It further resolved to take stern action on any individual(s)/VCC(s) or GBs hampering/disrupting the joint resolutions of eight villages by allowing work in their village jurisdiction.
“During the period of indefinite suspension of work, if any law enforcement agency(s) arrests any individuals/landowners, the eight villages will collectively take the matter to the administration for reasoning,” it added.
