SSAALWC withdraws decision  to suspend 2-lane road project

Zunheboto, May 20 (MExN): The SARDP Sumi Area Affected Landowners Welfare Committee (SSAALWC) under Zunheboto district on May 20 withdrew the stoppage of the ongoing 2-lane road project and allowed the road construction to resume in the larger public interest with immediate effect.

The decision was effected following a joint emergency meeting of District Administration, Police, Sumi Hoho, SOUZ and SKH on May 20 at the official residence of the Deputy Commissioner (DC), Zunheboto.

Issues pertaining to stoppage of ongoing two lane road contraction by the SSAALWC were discussed during the meeting, as per a joint resolution appended by Peter Lichamo ( Zunheboto DC), Uniel Kichu (Superintendent of Police, Zunheboto), I Nikheto Zhimomi (General Secretary, Sumi Hoho), H Kashito Yepthomi (President, Sumi Kukami Hoho) and Lhokiye Yeptho (President, SOUZ).

Along with the withdrawal of work suspension, it was also resolved to continuously extend all logistic support to the welfare committee, considering the merit of the demand put forth by the SSAALWC.

Further, the meeting resolved that henceforth if any individual/group obstructs the ongoing road construction or any developmental activities in the district, strict legal action shall be initiated against the defaulters as per the provision of the law.
