State health dept refutes reports of new recruits being unpaid

Kohima, May 30 (MExN): The Nagaland Health and Family Welfare department on May 30 issued a rejoinder to reports of newly recruited doctors being unpaid and denied salaries for months which appeared in various media platforms.

“It is clarified after proper inquisition at District level that the salaries in respect of temporarily engaged 87 MOs & 10 Junior Specialists have been disbursed up to March 2021,” stated Dr Neikhrielie Khimiao, Principal Director of the Directorate of Health & Family Welfare Nagaland.

Salary bills for April and May 2021 are already prepared and will be released by first week of June 2021 along with the rest of the employees, he added.  Dr Khimiao further mentioned that salary bills are not prepared for incumbents till joining/charge report is submitted. In this regard, the Principal Director informed all the 56 doctors temporarily engaged in May 2021 to submit the joining/charge report by May 31, 2021 to enable release of remuneration.
