Status of Tizu-Valley Hydro power project

The minister in- charge of power today stated that the Detailed Project Report (DPR) of the 24 MW Tizu-Valley Hydro power project has been prepared by the department of power.

Replying this to MLA Yitachu in starred question at the 9th session of 13th Nagaland Legislative Assembly here today, the minister in-charge of power stated that the project cost at 2021 price level stands Rs. 336.63 crore.

The project proposal is awaiting approval of the State Screening Committee for Externally Aided Projects for funding under EAP.
On being asked in what way the department propose to take the project forward, the minister in-charge of power stated that the department has proposed to take up the project as a state owned project with funding under EAP so as to maximize benefit to the state of its natural  resources and to reduce power purchase from outside.
 
Nagaland spends Rs. 440 crore on purchase power
Planning & coordination, land revenue and parliamentary affairs minister Neiba Kronu said that Tizu Valley Hydro Power Project found viable and accordingly DPR have been prepared.

He also informed the House that Nagaland spends Rs. 440 crore annually on purchase power from outside.

We cannot keep on purchasing power from outside, he said.

On the other hand, he appreciated the power department for registering an increase in revenue collection, amounting to Rs. 18 crore last year.

Kronu said that the revenue collection is expected to cross more than Rs. 50 crore during the current financial year.
 
No violation of VGs (Non-Gazetted) Service Rules 2000: Deputy CM
Deputy chief minister (Home) Y. Patton today informed the 9th session of 13th Nagaland Legislative Assembly (NLA) that there have been no instances of violation of the Village Guards (Non-Gazetted ) Service Rules 2000 (Rules 3:3) in the recent promotion exercises  undertaken by the department.

Replying this to MLA Yitachu in starred question, Patton informed that the service rules for Village Guards are yet to be notified.
The department, however, in principle follows the draft service rules framed in 2014 for the gazetted and non-gazetted officers of the Village Guards with respect to their promotions and other service matters, Patton added.
 
NLA passes Nagaland Appropriation Bills 2021
The 9th session of the 13th Nagaland Legislative Assembly (NLA) today passed the Nagaland Appropriation (No.5) Bill 2021, Nagaland Appropriation (No. 6) Bill 2021 and Nagaland Appropriation (No. 7) Bill 2021.

Earlier, the consideration and passing of those bills was moved by Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio on the floor of the House.

The Nagaland Appropriation (No.5) Bill 2021, amounting to Rs. 38, 78, 00, 000 was passed as supplementary demand for grants for the financial year 2014-15.

The Nagaland Appropriation (No.6) Bill 2021, amounting to Rs. 373, 60, 00, 000 was passed as supplementary demand for grants for the financial year 2015-16.

The Nagaland Appropriation (No.7) Bill 2021, amounting to Rs. 92, 16,00,000 was passed as supplementary demand for grants for the financial year 2016-17.
