DIMAPUR: Tiameren Ao, Member of Legislative Assembly, today urged all the Nagas to strive for re-constructing the ancient history of the Nagas and with the neighboring states and bring to limelight the very same relations through means like theatre presentation. Speaking of the regard that people give to acts like drama shows in other countries and states, he expressed his pitiful sentiment of the role of theatre presentation which has been lying ignored by the majority of the masses in Nagaland. He further wished success to the fraternity as well as the organization involved in promoting the past history of the Nagas. He was speaking at the occasion of a drama show on the play “Ahom Naga” at Town Hall, Dimapur this evening.

The show was initiated by the Nagaland Theatre Fraternity (NTF). The play was about the ancient love story of an Ahom King by the name Godapani who fell for an Ao Naga lady Sentishila of Nokpu village. The main idea was to showcase the old age relationship between the Nagas and the Ahoms way back in 1683 AD.

Earlier during the function the invocation was pronounced by Kaboto Kinimi, Youth Director, SBC, Sugar Mill Dimapur.
