Tuensang, May 31 (MExN): Students undertaking the ongoing online examination for Under Graduate (UG) under Nagaland University are faced with hardship due to poor internet service.
In this concern, the Eastern Nagaland College Students’ Union (ENCSU) on Monday stated that “over poor network coverage and slow internet connectivity on the Eastern parts of the Nagaland” is hindering the ongoing online examination.
ENCSU, President Serichum J Sangtam and General Secretary, Sanglekhamba C Chang in a press release said that the union has taken a strong note on multiple complains received from the students, parents and general public with regard to poor connectivity across Eastern Nagaland.
The students under Noklak district experienced a tense situation being unable to submit the answers script within the stipulated time on May 29, it reported.
The same situation is being experienced by many students in the interior places where the students have to walk miles away from home in search of internet connection to appear the exams, it added.
The ENCSU therefore appealed the State Government and district administrators to immediately take measures on the prevailing issue and to direct the telecom providers operating in Eastern Nagaland to provide quality network coverage and uninterrupted internet connectivity in all the areas within the Eastern Nagaland for the smooth conduct of the NU examination.
It further appealed the concerned authority to put extra efforts to provide quality internet connectivity in order to benefit the aggrieved students without any disruption
