Thenyizumi Students Union holds 68th general session

Thenyizu, December 29 (MExN): Pointing out the rapidly changing world, Nagaland Technical Education Director Er Mhaseto Nakro on Wednesday told the students to explore beyond their comfort zone.

He was addressing the 68th general session of the Thenyizumi Students Union (TSU) as special guest held at Multi-purpose Building, Thenyizu in Phek district.

He asserted that challenges should be face as stepping stone to go ahead, adding that hard works always win.

Nakro stated that government job is not the only option left, at present but expounded the various professions that are being taken up in the modern society if a person is ready and determine to face challenges so as to achieve things in life.

The director also told the participants the advancing Information Technology (IT) world and the robotic age that is bringing about a massive change in every sphere of life replacing all works that were done manually, in this regard he told the parents, to encourage children pursue their interest, while sharing their experiences in life and guide their children with moral values.

He also urged the parents to inspire their children to push forward to achieve in life, while he also exhorted the students to keep a strict routine, judiciously use time and valuing each moment.

Meanwhile, Er Nakro also briefly highlighted the prospect of the New Education Policy (NEP), stating that it will be more practical based education with the benefits for the learners to be more skilled henceforth.

He added that the NEP will soon be implemented, and in this regard told the parents and students to be mentally prepared to embrace the same.

Earlier, greeting was shared by Medothi Rhakho, Village Council Chairman (VCC) Thenyizu and exhorted the students’ community to preserve and give their best, fearing God.

Presidential address was delivered by TSU president Vekuto Kezo, educational and statistical report was presented by Zuhvozolu Theyo, folk song was presented by Women Society, Thenyizu and solo by Yotolu Swuro.

On the occasion, 17 students were awarded with Lt Punuhu Dawhuo Memorial Award donated by Thenucho Tunyi, Former Minister, Nagaland for securing first class in HSLC examination.

Later in the evening session, Boduve Peter Resu, Judicial Magistrate, First Class, Dimapur was the session speaker, while the Village Education Committee (VEC) Chairman, C Theyo also exhorted the gathering.

Meanwhile, a new team of TSU for 2022 was  also announced, that would be led by Nuzovo Dawhuo as President, Vezhodulu Swiho as Vice President, Nusakholu Dawhuo as General Secretary along with other executives.
