Kiphire, December 12 (MExN): Deputy Speaker, NLA, Yangseo Sangtam today inaugurated a sub-centre and Mithun project at Khongjiri which was attended by elders of the area and well wishers.

Speaking at the program, the Deputy Speaker acknowledged the leaders of Khongjiri area, villagers, administration and medical establishment of Pungro for extending all possible help in making the work possible.

He also expressed gratitude to Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio, Health Minister S Pangnyu Phom and R Khing, Advisor for V&AH for having confidence and setting up of the sub centre and Mithun Project at Khongjiri village.

Disclosing more development activities, he informed that a project for rearing honey bees is also in the process and likely be set up in this area soon. He meanwhile called upon the people to live in harmony. 

Dr Sikhu Torechu, MO, CHC Pungro who also spoke on the occasion said, for any development land should be available and development should not bring misunderstanding. He also expressed gratitude to  the Deputy Speaker for bringing development in far flung areas like this which has given hope to improve health sector in the area.

M Lochionh Peter, 2nd GB of Khongjiri village expressed gratitude to Sangtam for his tirelessly efforts towards the village and the area. He further acknowledged the CM, Health Minister, Advisor for V&AH, Principal Director H&FW, Director H&FW, Director (V&AH) & and the staff. 

He meanwhile said that there are instances where people have lost their lives in search of a single medicine and this sub centre will save hundreds of lives. He also stated that the main source of income for the people of the area is rearing Mithuns, adding that the inauguration of the Mithun project would benefit the people in the village.
