K Tokugha Sukhalu, IAS (Retd), MLA and Advisor for Food & Civil Supplies, Legal Metrology and Consumer Protection, on April 27 inaugurated the Naga People’s Front (NPF) office of the 35 Zunheboto Assembly Constituency.
Sukhalu, who also chairs the Urban Local Bodies and Village Council Committee of the Government of Nagaland, attended the programme which also featured the felicitation of High School Leaving Certificate (HSLC) achievers under the Nagaland Board of School Education.
Sudhanshu Kumar of Olympic Higher Secondary School secured the second position in the HSLC examination, while Kiphili Y Kiba from the same institution was among the top 10 rank holders.
Felicitating the students, Sukhalu stressed the importance of investing in education, stating that children represent the future. He expressed pride in their achievements and appreciated the role of parents, urging the community to prioritise quality education.

He advised students to remain focused on their goals and cautioned against excessive use of mobile phones.
Addressing party members, Sukhalu said the NPF is among the oldest regional parties in the Northeast and called for collective efforts towards building a “Viksit Nagaland” and “Viksit Bharat”.
He emphasised unity, a constructive mindset and active participation in development activities, including maintaining cleanliness in the town rather than depending solely on the Zunheboto Town Council.
He also urged citizens to support development initiatives and not obstruct ongoing works, stating that such efforts are essential for the welfare of future generations.
Sukhalu further informed that development projects under PMJSY, covering six to seven villages, would soon be initiated.
NPF Zunheboto Division president Khehoshe H Yeptho, in his address, noted that there are seven MLAs under the division, including Pughoboto sub-division, and called for unity and cooperation for the welfare of the people.
The programme was chaired by Shikaho Aye, vice president of NPF 35 Zunheboto Assembly Constituency. The invocation was delivered by Kupuli Achumi, sector pastor, Project West SBAK Nito Mount.
A short speech and vote of thanks were delivered by G Hekuto Jimo, president of NPF 35 Zunheboto Assembly Constituency.
