Mon, December 14 (MExN): SUMAN (Surakshit Matritva Aawasan) workshop was held at Medical District Hospital, Mon on December 14.
The scheme aims at assured, dignified and respectful delivery of quality health care services at no cost and zero tolerance for denial of services to any woman and newborn visiting a public health facility in order to end all preventable maternal and newborn deaths and morbidities and provide a positive birthing experience.
Dr Sashinle, DIO (UIP&RCH) presented a powerpoint on SUMAN where she gave details on the vision, goal, beneficiaries, objectives, attributes of a SUMAN complaint facility, beneficiaries of the schemes, broad pillars of the initiative, SUMAN service guarantee packages, entitlements under the scheme, notification of facilities under SUMAN, quality assurance under SUMAN, grievance redressal, maternal death reporting under SUMAN, community engagement under SUMAN.
Meanwhile, Imlinoba Changkiri, DPM (QA) gave a presentation on facility assessment checklist and Dr Aman, (Obs&gyn) DH gave a powerpoint presentation on the data of District Hospital from the HMIS (Health Management Information System) for the last two years and also briefed on the status of the Laqshya programme.
Dy CMO, Dr K Limatula Ao in the concluding remark said, “We all need to strengthen our soft skill which is the communication with the patients which we all tend to forget by attending many patients in a day.” She also reminded the staffs to remind themselves to pay attention to the person’s concern and to make the patient feel comfortable.
