Sumis revoke excommunication order

Zunheboto | July 7 : The Sumi public on Thursday resolved to revoke the decision taken in November 27, 2007 Dimapur to excommunicate any Sumi public and Sumi national workers who do not participate in the Naga unification process. The excommunication was revoked in the larger interest of “Peace, Unity and Reconciliation.”
The decision to revoke the excommunication order was the first point in the two-point resolution passed by the house during the Sumi public meeting held at Town Hall Zunheboto on Thursday. In the second point resolution, the Sumi public reaffirmed its decision taken in January 15, 2008 Zunheboto wherein all the Sumi inhabited areas were declared “Peace Zones.” The Sumi public strongly reaffirmed the resolution and to work towards the same with renewed zeal in the larger interest of “Peace, Unity and Reconciliation.” The resolution, a copy of which was obtained by The Morung Express, was signed by Sumi Hoho president, H. Hesso and general secretary, Toniho Yepthomi.
The public meeting which lasted for five and half hours was attended by leaders and representatives of all Sumi areas and the subordinate bodies of Sumi Hoho. Parliamentary secretary for industries and commerce, Dr. K.C. Nihoshe and DC Zunheboto also spoke in the meeting.
Area representatives from Akuluto, Atoizu, Suruhuto, Aghunato, Satakha, Pughoboto, Northern Sumi Sub Hoho, Eastern Sumi Hoho, Western Sumi Hoho, Kohima Sub Sumi Hoho, Zunheboto Sumi Hoho, Sumi Totimi Hoho, Sumi Kiphimi Kuqhakulu and others spoke during the meeting.
