IEC outreach programme on source segregation, single use plastics held in Kohima

As part of Swachh Bharat Mission-U 2.0, the Urban Development department, Nagaland in collaboration with AMRUT Mission & PETROS, Performing Arts today conducted IEC outreach programme in three locations in Kohima.

The event, which took place at PHQ Junction, High School Junction and Old NST Kohima, spread awareness to the public on “Source segregation, Single Use Plastics and Used Water Management.”

Dance and street play also marked the event.

At Old NST, Elizabeth Ngully, Mission Director, SBM- U, Nagaland called upon the people to avoid using plastics and to ensure litter free environment for clean Nagaland.

Stressing on the need to conserve water, she also called upon the people to use water judiciously.

Neiketuno Sechii, Miss Nagaland 2023 also spoke at the programme and called upon the people to practice proper waste management mechanism for a clean and healthy society.

She also challenged each and every individual to come forward and put a collective effort to achieve the vision of Swacch Bharat Mission in the country.

At PHQ Junction, Kezhochole Rhetso, Joint Mission Director, SBM-U gave introductory speech while Kohima Municipal Council (KMC) chairperson T. Lanusenla Longkumer delivered short message.

Vizokholie Kesieyie, Deputy Mission Director AMRUT Mission spoke at similar event at High School Junction while introductory note was given by Steve Ngullie, SPMU, SBM-U.
