Tuensang, March 6 (MExN): The Tuensang District User Network (TDUN) on Saturday took strong exception to the reports of a Kohima-based NGO called Goodwill Society having established a Drug De-Addiction Centre in Tuensang since 2019.
This was done without the knowledge of the TDUN or our community and is against the Network’s resolution which disallows programmes or projects related to the user community from functioning in the district without the TDUN’s concern and knowledge, it said in a press release on March 6.
As such, the TDUN queried the NGO as to what benefit they have provided to the users in Tuensang till date and who the in-charge of the centre is. It also sought to know who the centre’s doctor in-charge and counsellor are, how many patients have been registered presently and what medicines have been given to them.
Stating that the network would not keep silent at the violation of its resolution, the TDUN notified Goodwill Society to meet them and clarify on the issue within 3 days. “…failing to do so, we will take further necessary steps,” it cautioned.
