Teachers training on early childhood care and education in Longleng held

Longleng, April 16 (MExN): A five-day in-service teachers training on Early Childhood Care and Education (ECCE) and, Foundational Literacy and Numeracy (FLN) was held in Longleng with the objective to train the teachers to imbibe basic knowledge and skills about the Nagaland ECCE curriculum, slated for implementation in all Government Schools starting from the academic session of 2024. 

A DIPR report stated that the training was held at EBRC Hall, Longleng from April 9 to 13.

Delivering the keynote address during the inaugural programme, Deputy Mission Director Samagra Shiksha, Kelhikha Kenye highlighted the significance of the training and its alignment with the recent initiatives in ECCE & FLN. 

He emphasised on the importance of early childhood care and education and learning in the foundational stage. He also encouraged the teachers to work with commitment and nurture the children by enhancing the learning competencies to achieve the early stage of learning. 

During the valedictory programme, Moian, Assistant District Coordinator, DMA Longleng gave a short speech. In her speech, she encouraged the teachers to play an active role to bring changes in the learning areas during the initial stage of Child’s education. She urged the teachers to create new ideas and happy atmosphere to enhance children’s interest in learning and enlarge their participation.

B Longting P/T GMS BLOCK & Chuphe Phom P/T GPS Noklangkong shared their training experiences. Moimei Konsen, ToT EBRC Longleng chaired the programme.

A total of 111 teachers from 40 schools comprising of one teacher each teaching ECCE/Pre-Primary classes and 2 teachers teaching classes 1-5 along with newly appointed ECCE Teachers attended the training under EBRC Longleng.
