The Electric Cool Kid to tour across NE

Dimapur, January 30 (MExN): Independent music act The Electric Cool Kid has announced a Northeast India tour titled “THIS IS NOT POP!”, scheduled to run from February 1 to March, covering multiple cities, cultural hubs and festival spaces across the region.

The tour follows the band’s recent EP release and has been described as a ground-level, community-driven run that prioritises intimate venues and regional festival audiences over conventional touring circuits. According to the announcement, the tour is rooted in direct engagement with independent music spaces and aims to strengthen grassroots cultural exchange across the Northeast.

Audiences can expect a live set featuring new material alongside long-time fan favourites, with performances shaped by the immediacy and energy of live shows.

Spanning several locations across Northeast India, THIS IS NOT POP! seeks to highlight the region’s growing independent music ecosystem while fostering connections with local communities, artists and cultural collectives.

The tour is being supported by a network of tour partners, creative collaborators and community allies. The band described the tour as both a statement and an invitation, reaffirming live music as a shared, physical experience and celebrating the Northeast’s distinct creative voice.
