Author Tiala Sangtam Neihu turns her dream into reality
Kohima, October 6 (MExN): A lot of working mothers tend to give up on their dreams, but in spite of having a career alongside bringing up three sons; Tiala Sangtam Neihu has been able to turn her dream into a reality.
Zakiebeituo Metha, Pastor of Immanuel Baptist Church, Kohima said this while addressing the book launch of “The Yellow Sunset” written by Tiala Sangtam Neihu on October 6 afternoon at Hotel Ura, Kohima.
He lauded the hard work, dedication and efforts of the author while encouraging her to keep writing in the days to come.
Stating that the newly released title is a ‘fine poetry book’ with lots of emotions, ideas and thoughts about life, he expressed belief that readers will clearly understand because the book has been written in such a way with much positivity and clarity. He also hoped that it will serve as inspiration for working mothers to pursue their dreams and will be a blessing to all those who read it.
The author of the book, Tiala Sangtam Neihu recalled that she was very fond of writing as a little girl and wrote every time she was happy, angry or sad. “But being married at a young age, the responsibilities were overwhelming and this love and passion for writing vanished into thin air,” she said. However, referring to a friend, who believed in her and rekindled that fire in her to write, she also dedicated her debut book to that friend.
“This is a gentle reminder to all the working mothers out there, who are like me that dreams do come true,” she expressed and further added that, “I just hope, and it is my only prayer that if a poem from this book or a fraction of it, have touched or inspired you, or you feel that you can relate to it, then I would like to believe that it has served the purpose.” She also read out a poem from the book titled, “The Power of Prayer”.
In her publisher’s note, Vishü Rita Krocha noted that almost 50% of the books published by PenThrill Publication House are poetry books while stating that the importance of poetry cannot be emphasized enough. Both writing and reading poetry, she said help us understand and appreciate the world around us, and also spark inspiration for important discussions as much as it can open a reader’s mind to appreciate better the simple ordinary things in life.
The Yellow Sunset, she remarked, comprises of poems which are mostly bright and hopeful; things that the poet is grateful for and also speaks of her concern for the society, and hoped that she will continue to write and enthrall readers with her beautiful thoughts.
Mention may be made here that Tiala Sangtam Neihu is a working mother, blessed with three boys. Born and raised in Tuensang, she now lives in Chandmari, Kohima with her husband and children. She loves singing, writing and baking, and is passionate about her dreams.
Highlights of the book launch included prayer by Temsuinla, Associate Pastor Women, SBLK and was chaired by Thsidilong Rüdy, Asst. Professor, Baptist College, Kohima. The Yellow Sunset is the 35th publication of PenThrill.
