Phek, April 27 (MExN): The Thenyizumi Village Council (TVC) had installed a new team of village leaders for the tenure 2021-2025 on April 24 last at Thenyizumi village under Phek district.
Er Mhaseto Nakro exhorted the leaders to work in unity for the welfare and progress of the village while congratulating the leaders of the past tenure. Later, he administered the oath of allegiance for the new Village Council, village Development board and other Sub-committees to be accountable and honest.
Thepuzhoyi Theyo, pastor, Thenyizumi Baptist Church (TBC) in his message stressed on the need for biblical leadership amongst the village leaders and be God fearing while also to maintain unity. Theyo also led the church leaders of the churches from village in offering the dedicatory prayer and pronouncing blessings for the new team of village leaders.
In his introductory note, Planning & Vision Cell (PVC) Convenor, Chisazo Dawhuo stated that the installation of new team of village council was necessary as the incumbent team tenure got over under the Nagaland Village Council Act.
Thenyizumi, Planning & Vision Cell is a think-tank of the affairs and development of the village as an autonomous body that offer critical analysis and guidance for the welfare and benefit of the village which was formed and adopted on December 30, 2015 during its citizenship day.
It function as a watch-dog to the functioning and activities of the village like conducting social audit and public accounts pertaining in order to keep accountability and has planned and suggested various other development projects in the village like- the ongoing construction of Multi-purpose hall, recently inaugurated local ground and Community building at Kohima.
The new team of village council will be led by Medothi Rhakho as Chairman, Thepukrayi Nienu as Village Council Secretary, Vethikho Ngoi as Treasurer; Cekrokhoyi Kezo as VDB Secretary.
Sub-committee included C Krongoyi Theyo- Chairman, Village Education Committee (VEC), Kethoswu Dawhuo- Chairman WATSAN committee, Kenecuyi Dawhuo- Chairman Village Health Committee (VHC) and Vekhruzo Thisa- Chairman, Village Power committee (Electricity).
