Dimapur, February 8 (MExN): Nagaland Pradesh Congress Committee President K Therie on Monday mourned the demise of the party’s Vice-President Jonathan Ao who passed away on February 6.
In a condolence message addressed to the departed leader’s wife Lanuinla Lemtur, children and family members, Therie remembered late Jonathan Ao as a tall Congress leader who stood unwavering and firm despite the challenges faced in keeping the Party alive.
“In every situation, no matter the challenges in front, he always upheld the interests of the Party and party workers as the first priority. His lifetime of dedication right from the days as a youth leader, to the present day of leading the party at the state level and his vast contributions to the Congress Party will go down in our history,” the party President stated.
Stating that late Jonathan will be fondly remembered for his wit and affable personality, Therie said that his passing away has left an irreplaceable void.
“All rank and file join me and my wife in paying our sincere homage to late Jonathan Ao. It is our prayer that the Almighty God uphold and comfort you all through this most difficult time of unbearable loss,” the message read.
In another condolence note, the Dimapur District Congress Committee stated that late Jonathan’s unparalleled dedication and loyalty towards the party was a clear indication that he was a great man and a great leader.
“We will all surely feel the loss but none more that his family,” it stated while offering its heartfelt condolences and prayers to the grieving family.
