Response team from Fire & Emergency Services, Nagaland engaged in dousing off the fire at Dimapur.
Dimapur, February 15 (MExN): Three separate fire incidents were reported in Nagaland from February 13 to 15, two in Dimapur and one in Wokha district.
The first fire broke out on February 13 at Mishikito Village, Thilixu area in Dimapur. The team from Fire Station Dimapur (Central) responded to the site along with two fire tenders. One house along with household belongings was gutted in the inferno. Cause of fire is suspected to be from electrical short circuit and there was no casualty, Kenny Khing, RO (E) (F&ES), Fire & Emergency Services, Nagaland stated in the update.
Meanwhile, property worth Rs 15 lakh approximately was lost. The response team led by Duty Commander ASI, G Niamlungpou Gonmei could prevent the fire from spreading further to the immediate brick house and also a mini bus could be salvage.
The second report was a jungle fire at Lower Mount Tiyi, Wokha on February 14. The team from Wokha fire station led by Duty Commander, ASI, Bumo Hayang Chang proceeded to control the fire, informed an update received here.
Tree plantation and property worth Rs 50,000 approximately was lost in the fire. There was no casualty. The cause of fire could not be ascertained, the update stated.
In the third incident, a fire broke out at Seiuruzha Colony, Dimapur on February 15. One katcha house along with household belonging was razed down in the inferno while property worth Rs 8 lakh approximately was lost, the department report informed.
Fire & Emergency Services team from Chümoukedima took 44 minutes to combat the fire which was suspected to be caused by electrical short circuit. There was no casualty.
The response team was led by Duty Commander, ASI T Jonaba.
