‘Time and opportunity to give back,’ NSCN (R) to cadres

Dimapur, May 24 (MExN): The NSCN (R) today issued a ‘clarion call’ to all the cadres that “instead of expecting or seeking ‘financial assistance/contribution/donation etc’ from our benefactors, patrons, sympathisers etc, this is a time and opportunity to give back the people and society.”

The NSCN (R) in a press release issued through its MIP said, “Our small contributions in our NSCN’s Government or individual capacities, for what they have contributed to our cause, and should come forward whenever our services are required.”

Further, it issued a ‘reminder and advise’ to all cadres concerned not to fall ‘short of grace’ during this ‘pandemic and lockdown’ by harassing the business communities, contractors, office departments, patrons, public or whomsoever. “... and if found so, the NSCN (R) will leave no room or space for tolerance for such activities and as declared earlier, we will continue to maintain ‘Zero Tolerance’ for any unnecessary harassments perpetrated upon the public, especially during these hard and trying times,” it cautioned.

It also mentioned, “the NSCN (R) is obvious that there is time for everything and all things ‘good or had’ shall pass away and hence it is the responsibility of every citizens to work in unison with collective and joint efforts to thwart any potential threat that this pandemic is causing towards our very existence.”

"Even if we cannot be an ‘asset’ to our society, we should at least avoid being a ‘liability’ to others and hence stick to the SOP protocol as provided by the Government to be safe, feel safe and to keep safe,” it added.

Thanks frontline workers

Meanwhile, the NSCN (R) has also appreciated “all frontline workers who are putting their lives at stake to fight off this deadly enemy.”

“This is a kind of war where guns, weapons, valour, brawn and bravado are not required, but where humanity, perseverance, forbearance and love which could even mean sacrificing own lives is required and for which is even more deadlier than the 'gun battles',” it stated.

It said that the commendable jobs being executed by state government, doctors, nurses, police, ngos, political parties, churches etc and other individuals, in their own capacities cannot go unnoticed and ignored.

While noting that Nagaland, and especially Dimapur, which is the hot bed and epicenter and the battleground of this war is very much blessed and thanked the Nagaland State Government to deputing Kikheto Sema IAS (APC), who is the Nodal Officer of Dimapur area. It also mentioned Commissioner of Police Rothihu Tetseo, Dimapur DC Rajesh Soundararajan, CMO Dr Antoly and other frontliner for their service. “Appreciation must also go to some church bodies, ngos, political parties and individuals who have also joined the ‘Fight Forces’ with their own resources,” it added.
