Zunheboto, October 9 (MExN): Natha New village, Sheipu village and SBAK, Nito Mount mission centre were declared as tobacco-free zones, according to a report from the CMO office Zunheboto.
During the district level coordination meeting led by district National Tobacco Control Programme held on October 7 at the Deputy Commissioner’s (DC) conference hall, Zunheboto DC Peter Lichamo congratulated the villages and mission centre.
He further urged the churches and NGOs to spread awareness through all possible means about the harmful impacts of tobacco and work together in making Zunheboto a tobacco-free district. The DC appealed the leaders present from villages to cooperate with the authorities so that more places could be declared as tobacco-free zones.
