DIMAPUR, AUGUST 29 (MExN): The Tobu Area Students’ Union (TASU) has resolved not to entertain any proxy teachers under its jurisdiction starting from the next academic session.
A press release issued by TASU president, Sangti Konyak and general secretary, L Davidson Konyak has therefore asked all the teachers who cannot stay in their respective posting place to either resign or make necessary arrangement for transfer in the next four month.
The union revealed that during the education drive conducted recently, the team discovered that at least 30-35 percent of teachers kept proxy in the 21 GPS, 7 GMS and 2 GHS in Tobu area.
Most of the proxy teachers were high-school drop outs and in majority of the schools only 20-30 percent of the syllabuses were covered. There was also shortage of Math, Science and Hindi teachers in the GMS, the union stated.
Besides, the Head Master of Govt. High School, Tobu who joined the office in the year 2014 was found to have attended the office only once. In this connection, the union has demanded that the education department immediately suspend the HM and depute a replacement at the earliest.
The union also reminded all the teachers who are undergoing training with approval from the Education Department to submit the approval letter along with all the supporting documents to the TASU office on or before October 30, 2018 as the union will be doing the recruitment for the substitute teacher for the next academic session.
