Kohima, May 7 (MExN): An official statement on Saturday said that Commissioner and Secretary of the Nagaland Assembly Dr PJ Antony, in a notification, announced that after the merger of the 21 members of the NPF with the NDPP on April 29 and the order of the Speaker, TR Zeliang has ceased to be the Leader of the Opposition in the Nagaland Legislative Assembly. The notification was issued in the light of the recent merger and the Order of the Speaker under Para 4 (2) of the Tenth Schedule read with the Members of the Nagaland Legislative Assembly (Disqualification on Ground of Defection) Rules, 2019 issued vide Bulletins-II Nos.32 and 33 dated April 29, 2022, accepting the claim.
