Kohima, February 12 (MExN): A two-day skill development training on baking without oven organised by District Administration and DLCW-Mahila Shakti Kendra,Phek under Beti Bachao Beti Padhao concluded on February 10 at Town Hall, Chozuba under Phek district.
Altogether 10 women from Chozuba Town availed the training course. While baking without oven technique was used in the training in order to promote easy to make and low investment model, according to DLCW MSK press release on February 11.
The objective of the training was to enhance self dependency and income generation skills for the rural women.
Phek DC Razouvolie Dozo stated that it is important to have local entrepreneurs manufacturing for local needs of people in the region. He expressed that in order to improve the supply of locally made products in town, another baking class for young women selected from different towns in Phek will be organised at Phek HQ in the near future.
Nodal officer BBBP, Phek Bhavani Sri IAS stated that financial independency and self reliance are important components in empowering women. She mentioned that the BBBP focuses on identifying rural unemployed women and upskill them with potential skills for income generation.
