DIMAPUR, MAY 11 (MExN): State Agricultural Management and Extension Training Institute (SAMETI) organized a two days training program on “Market Driven Millets Production, Processing & Value Addition technologies” for ATMA functionaries at SAMETI, Medziphema on May 10 & 11.
The main objective of the training was to raise awareness about the modern aspects of improving millet productivity through scientific cultivation technology and the importance of value addition in millets for human diet and human economy. A total number of 22 ATMA officials participated in the training.
Resource persons for the training, Dr. Hannah Krujila Asangla, Chief Technical Officer, KVK Porba from Phek District, deliberated on the status, market, scope of millet and community seed bank for conserving local germplasm in Nagaland and India. Akato Chishi, Senior Technical Assistant, Department of Entomology SASRD highlighted on the integrated pest management of millet.
