Kohima, February 26 (MExN): Training on National Pension Scheme (NPS) organized by the Legal Metrology and Consumer Protection Department was conducted on February 24 at the Directorate Conference Hall.

With Aochuba Pongener, Senior Treasury Officer, South Treasury Kohima, Chichamo Odyuo and Meguo, Treasuries and Accounts department as the master trainers, the training was imparted to the Directorate staff with an objective to enroll the staff under the new National Pension System and to clear misconceptions on the same.

Awareness was built on the implementation of NPS, status of NPS, and investments and penal interest. The trainees were also familiarized with the working style of the NPS, and the pros and cons of the scheme.

The training enabled the staff to have a better understanding and approach towards NPS and also ensured better execution of NPS related works for the Directorate as well as for all the districts.

Discussions were also held after the training where doubts were cleared and the staff were sensitized on the security of savings of their monthly contribution for post retirement benefits.
