Mokokchung, December 8 (MExN): Members of Water & Sanitation (WATSAN) Committee from 19 villages were imparted training on Water Quality Testing with Field Testing Kits (FTKs) on December 7 at Town Hall, Tuli Town.
The training was organised by District Water and Sanitation Mission (DWSM), Public Health Engineering Department (PHED), Mokokchung Division and sponsored by Sanitation & Water & Sanitation Support Organisation (WSSO), PHED Nagaland.
The training envisaged on Jal Jeevan Mission (JJM) main objective of creating a community based water quality monitoring and surveillance system at grass root level by the community itself to enhance awareness of safe drinking water, a press release from division informed.
During the training, resource person, Alemjungla Longchar, Chemist, Mokokchung Division shared on the manual procedures and technical aspects of FTKs as well as its practical application.
The training was attended by 44 WATSAN members from 19 Villages from Tuli, Changtongya and Mangkolemba blocks respectively and FTKs were distributed to all the attendees, the release added.
