Training on packing and practices of black pepper cultivation held

The NABARD in collaboration with Nagaland Center for Human Development-Information Technology (NCHD-IT) conducted two days training on packing and practices of black pepper cultivation to Joint Liability Groups (JLG) at Hopongkyu Memorial Hall, Kiphire on December 6 and 7. Livika from Spice Board of India was the resource person. Imsunaro Block Development Manager (BDM) and Yashimenla Lemtor Executive Director NCHD-IT were present during the training.  

Altogether 30 farmers from six villages attended the training and committed to start cultivating from 2019 onwards. The NSCB Kiphire Branch assured all possible help to the farmers. Branch manager also disclose that Black pepper present market rate is Rs.600 per kg and when black pepper is polished it becomes white pepper which the rate is Rs.2000 per kg. One plant cost Rs.30. Bank loan to be provided for committed farmers he encouraged.
