Trainings on Integrated Health Information Platform held

Dimapur, April 1 (MExN): Trainings on Integrated Health Information Platform (IHIP) were held in Zunheboto and Kiphire districts for medical officers, Community Health Officers, GNMs, ANMs, and other staff.

IHIP is a web based near real-time information system to provide state of the art single operating picture with geospatial information for managing disease outbreaks and related resources.

Some of the key features of IHIP are real-time data reporting through the use of mobile applications accessible at village, state and the central levels, geo-tagging of reporting health facilities, etc.

It was envisaged to enable better continuity of care, secure and confidential health data/records management, better diagnosis of diseases, reduction in patient re-visits prevention of medical errors, and others.

The office of the Chief Medical Officer (CMO) Zunheboto conducted a three day hands-on training on IHIP at Town Hall, Zunheboto, on March 25, 30 and 31.

Resource persons for the training were Dr Zhekheli Chishi, District Epidemiologist, Data Manager (IDSP) DPM and BPMs. Dr Nukshisangla, DPO (RCH & UIP) gave the welcome address. The trainees were comprised of MOs, CHOs, GNMs, ANMs, Pharmacist and LDAs, the CMO Zunheboto office informed in a press release on Thursday.

Meanwhile, in Kiphire, a district level workshop on use of Integrated Health Information Platform (IHIP) in Integrated Disease Surveillance Programme (IDSP) was conducted at the Conference Hall, District Hospital Kiphire on March 30.

The programme was attended by Medical Officers, Community Health Officers, GNMs, ANMs, and Lab technicians from all the health units under Kiphire district. The trainers were Dr Dheni Thonger, District Epidemiologist DSU, IDSP, and Imkongchuba, Manager IDSP, CMO Office Kiphire, a DIPR report informed.
