Pughoboto, May 3 (MExN): To make a greener environment and beautify the villages under Pughoboto sub-division, a tree plantation drive was carried out at Tsaphimi Village on May 2. The drive was carried out under the LADP programme, according to a DIPR report. APRO Pughoboto, Mhathung Ngullie, the officer-in-charge of the village drive, highlighted the ongoing project and acknowledged the participants for their co-operation in the tree plantation drive. He encouraged everyone to nurture the saplings and develop a sense of responsibility to look after the trees.
Tsaphimi Village Chairperson, Ikato Assumi who briefed about the programme also expressed gratitude to the officer-in-charge and the participants for their support and cooperation. Villagers from Tsaphimi village took an active part in the plantation drive, the DIPR report stated.
The tree plantation drive at the Pughoboto assembly constituency started in 2014, under the initiative of MLA Y Vikheho Swu, it added.
